Jon, our dedicated Commercial & Pre-Construction Lead at SMD. With a passion for delivering excellence, Jon leads our Estimating, Surveying, and Finance teams with a blend of expertise and energy. He embodies our solution-focused and ambitious spirit, ensuring that every project runs smoothly from start to finish.

Jon has a knack for connecting with clients, both new and existing. His extensive contract experience and value engineering skills consistently provide the best value for our clients. Jon’s commitment to responsive and genuine client relationships builds trust and fosters long-lasting partnerships.

Jon’s friendly demeanor and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable part of the SMD family. When he’s not working, Jon is a keen golfer and exceptional father. Jon’s collaborative approach and dedication to quality embody the values that make SMD a trusted partner in the industry.

Responsible for growth and diversificiation, Rob is our dedicated Strategic Growth Director. With a focus on business protection and expansion, Rob ensures SMD grows at a sustainable pace whilst exploring opportunities that will add value to SMD and its subsideries. His eye for detail and opportunity complements his role, providing the best service and fostering new partnerships and ventures.

Outside of work, Rob is consistent with keeping fit, diet and nutrition. He also likes to spend time with his family and dog enjoying the great outdoors.

Responsible for all things strategic and operational, Steve plays a crucial role in supporting Moo, Jon and Rob in growing the business sustainably. With two decades of industry experience, Steve provides the SMD family with a structured and informed approach to financial planning, ensuring profitable growth while keeping our clients’ budgets at the centre of everything we do.

Steve’s genuine commitment to excellence and strategic but responsive approach make him an invaluable part of our team. His expertise ensures that we deliver exceptional results whilst protecting the business in a manner that builds confidence in out clients. Outside of work and when not injured, Steve is a secret athlete and adrenaline junkie. He focusses on keeping fit and active which compliments his goal for health and wellbeing. He enjoys challenges such as marathons, triathlons and downhill mountain biking and is also an avid Liverpool supporter.

Coming from a Military background, Matt is the watching eye over SMD in all things compliance. With a thorough attention to detail, supported by his passion for protecting the SMD team, supply chain partners and stakeholders. He leads the organisation from a Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Operational perspective. Ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and compliant with current legislation and construction trends, whilst maintaining engagement and collaboration from the SMD team and respected industry professionals. Matt has been crucial to the growth and success of the company since inception. His commitment to innovation and continual improvement promote the companies values throughout all levels of the business. Outside of work, Matt enjoys the outdoors. Challenging himself to hikes, treks and long walks across different regions in the UK. He also loves spending time with his family and close friends.

Candy is the glue that holds us all together. Managing and Coordinating the operations of our business, Candy is known for her attention to detail and proactive approach. She is passionate about driving efficiency and promoting collaboration across the company, truly embodying our solution-focused and collaborative spirit.

When she’s not with us, Candy is a mum of two, learning new skills every day and bringing them back to help coordinate us. She also plays Netball for a local team demonsrating her teamwork and collaborative skills. Her commitment and dedication to her family, sport, and work truly represents the genuine and supportive ethos that sets SMD apart.

Meg is our lead in Business Development. With a people first approach, Meg is instrumental in identifying new business opportunities with likeminded clients and professional teams. As the external voice and face of SMD, she supports bids and tenders, ensuring alignment with client expectations. Her fresh and collaborative approach helps deliver tailored solutions for diverse projects, contributing to SMD’s ongoing success.

Outside of work, Meg enjoys travelling and playing golf, but only when it’s sunny! Her positive energy and dedication make her an invaluable part of the SMD family, embodying our commitment to collaboration and genuine relationships.

Siobhan is a HR Consultant who Partners with SMD as an ambitious, growing business, to create a thriving, values-driven organisation where both people and performance flourish. Like the companies she works with, Siobhan is driven by purpose and focused on delivering outstanding results that push boundaries. Throughout her 20 years in HR, she has learned that sustainable growth comes from keeping things practical and real while always aiming higher.

Siobhan is a highly responsive and genuine partner – think of her a our experienced sounding board who truly listens and understands the people challenges we’re facing. Her approach is built on authenticity and building strong, lasting relationships where leaders feel heard and supported.
