Our Responsibilities
The tender for this project was negotiated with the client on a performance specification basis, which was then developed in detail prior to being awarded the contract.
At the early stages, SMD led and managed all preconstruction works – including planning application, surveys, cost planning and design, plus consultation with local authorities. After having agreed the budget, design and scope we started the construction works, which ran for just over three months.
When we began the project, the existing building was a commercial starter unit with toilet facilities and one large office space on the ground floor. The refurbishment brief was to completely strip this out to just a shell. Following this we carried out the main works, including new internal walls, mechanical and electrical services, suspended ceiling systems, flooring finishes and more.
