This particular project involved the technical refurbishment and modification of small-scale API manufacturing laboratories in Aptuit’s B150 facility, completed to cGMP requirements.

The ISO cGMP Laboratories project was strategically phased to ensure workspace continuity within a fully operational building. The process of lifting and installing new energy-efficient Air Handling Units (AHUs) through a small, removed first-floor louver was expertly informed using BIM360 and 3D modelling technology. The AHUs were fitted with H14 HEPA filters to overcome the limited ceiling void space in the laboratories.
To minimise programme and delivery risk that long lead times pose, both AHUs were ordered, delivered, and stored in advance, without compromising the facilities’ operations. All other mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were integrated into the existing building supplies without causing any disruption to ongoing experiments.
