In Summary

The key challenge on this project was the timescale, with the client needing the works to be completed within the summer holiday period.

The solution:

  • Proactivity at tender stage including pre-negotiations carried out with key supply chain members, ensuring they were ready to start on site when needed with sufficient resources in place
  • Being reactive and agile
  • Robust tender programmes being updated weekly
  • Site meetings carried out weekly

Social Impact

Our forward thinking was highlighted when a member of nursery staff raised a concern regarding uneven track mat being problematic for pushchair users and pregnant women. The team acted swiftly by adding sand under the track mat, smoothing the surface, the same day, resolving the issue and ensuring site safety.
